GOPAL T. RAGHUNATH, PT DPT, MSPT, CSCS, RYT-200, CCM, SUP – ACA
Gopal T. Raghunath received his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy (MSPT) from the University of Rhode Island in 2001. In 2007 following completion of his orthopedic/sports residency, he earned his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from The University of St. Augustine.
Dr. Raghunath has over 18 years of clinical experience, in the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of neuromusculoskeletal injuries. He is also a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association, with a specialty focus on fitness & sports performance training for water sport athletes (swimmers, triathletes, surfers, stand-up paddlers). Dr. Raghunath is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), as well as the California Physical Therapy Association (CPTA). He is also a former NCAA Division III Conference-Finalist swimmer from Denison University, in Granville, Ohio, and holds a Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do from K.H Kim’s School of Oriental Arts, in Northbrook, Illinois. Dr. Raghunath is a Chicago native, and former owner/clinic director of Buffalo Grove Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation, P.C. He has authored over a dozen articles on health, fitness, and orthopedic rehabilitation related topics, which have been published in the Chicago Tribune.
Dr. Raghunath has dedicated his professional life to providing exceptional customer service/clinical care, through his commitment to life-long learning, and development of lasting patient-client, referral source, and community relationships. His diverse background and extensive knowledge as a movement specialist, enable him to proficiently treat a broad range of conditions, utilizing a holistic healing & wellness approach, through the integration of evidence-based/cutting-edge principles. Collectively, these experiences fuel his passion for educating, inspiring, and empowering individuals and communities alike, to prevent injury, as well as optimize health and quality of life.
Having endured the Windy City winters long enough, Dr. Raghunath and his wife, Bhakti (also a practicing physical therapist), now call San Diego their new home! Dr. Raghunath is a member of the La Jolla Swim Club. He is excited, honored, and privileged to serve the San Diego community. During his free time, Dr. Raghunath and his wife enjoy ocean swimming, stand-up paddling, mountain biking, hiking, downhill skiing, cooking, and traveling.
